I am still working on my large figurative painting – I hope it will be finished in the next days. But I really needed a break from this and so I did some Rose paintings. The Red and Yellow Rose are small ones, 6×6 inch. The Orange Rose is in the size 6×16 inch. All three are done in watercolor and painted on stretched watercolor canvas.
I hope you like them.

Doris they are beautiful! Do you stretch your watercolor canvas yourself or do you have to buy it pre stretched?
Hi Krista, thank you for your comment. Pre-stretched watercolor canvas are not available here in Germany. I learned to do them by myself by Joyce Faulknor. You can visit this link and you can see the demo

I have tried this method with coldpressed and hotpressed paper and it works perfect for me. The pluspoint is that you don’t need to frame your art and also not behind glass – but you must varnish them to protect them from dirty etc. I am not sure if this accepted when you want to enter your work in competitions. But then you could varnish them after that.
Hope this helps.
