Exciting News again!
My pink tulip painting in watercolor "Frühlingsboten" (Signs of Spring) is published in the french art magazine "Pratique des Arts". This magazine is similar to the US Artists Magazine and full of info. Although I speak only a few french words it is wonderful to look through this magazine and to see all the wonderful art displayed.
Enjoying a cup of tea and reading through the magazine. What can make more fun?

They made an article about flower artists of the world and I feel very honored that they included my work. I was excited to see that my painting was not only displayed on Page 10, they also used it in their list of contents. How cool!

Rose Clair Renaissance IV - 12"x16" (30x40 cm)
painted on 140 Lb hotpressed stretched watercolor canvas
In my previous post I posted some Steps of my newest Rose Painting. And I couldn't resist and wanted to finish it as I also wanted to see how it develops.
When I started the Rose painting I only wanted to add a few leaves there but then I decided to paint more and also some buds.
Here are a few step-by-step-photos. Click on the images to enlarge them.

I used the same colours as I mentioned in my previous post.
The apricot colour was achieved with at first doing a deep layer of Indian Yellow. I then added some Translucent orange and then I used a mix of Translucent Orange and Permanent Rose.
The leaves were created with Aureolin, Indian Yellow, Phthalo Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Phthalo Green and Translucent Orange. My favorite green tube is empty, so I needed to mix the green by myself.

Pink Peony, 12"x16"
painted on stretched canvas
Price: $350 plus shipping insured
If you are interested in purchase this piece, plase visit my shop here
Today I finished my Peony Painting. Size is 12"x16" and it is painted on stretched watercolor canvas.
At first I wanted to do a lightly grey green background, but the paper buckled a bit and I got some blossoms, which I didn't want to have there, so I decided to go dark with the background. The dark background was created with Winsor green (blue shade), Burnt Sienna, Ivory Black and Alizarin Crimson in several layers.
Deutsch

It is almost a week over since I posted an update of my roses. I photographed each day a new step and wanted to post it but then I was busy with going on with the painting and so I can already show the finished painting.
For now I will call this painting finished, but since I have spent so much time on it I also need a break and will check it in a few days again, if anything still needs some work.
It is painted on 140 Lb stretched watercolor canvas with only using transparent watercolors. Size is 12"x16".
Beside that I did a small Daffodil painting on 140 Lb coldpressed paper. Size is 5"x7".

I have worked more on Roses in the past week and although I have posted them in my Rosesblog I have decided to show them also here on my mainblog.
The first one is the newest Rose painting. The colour is a bit difficult to describe. It is not really pink, not really orange, not really red, it is a mix of that, the name of the Rose is Amelita Renaissance.
And the two white Roses are of the Rose "Weiße Weihnacht", translated to "White Christmas".

All three paintings are done on 600 g (300 Lb) coldpressed Arches Watercolor paper, unstretched, and I really had fun painting them. The painting of one of the white Roses will also be in the E-book.
On a side note: I just have upgraded this blog to a new version and so far as I can see all seems to work perfect. But if you have with something trouble, please leave a comment here or email me and I will try to fix it. Thank you.

I am sorry. I wanted to show some photos about my newest oil painting, but unfortunately it didn't work. I had to paint all over, I was not really happy with the composition and so I have to start fresh again.
In the meantime I have just painted a small watercolor, again on Aquabord (Textured Claybord) from Ampersand.
If you have not paint on Aquabord yet, you simply should give it a try. It would be interesting to hear how you like it. It is so easy to remove paint and to get highlights back when neccessary. It is always good when we have not to worry about such things while painting and to know how we can easily fix areas.
This small painting is titled "The Pink Hat". I think it is clear why. LOL
Size is 8"x10".
For the skin tones I have used Raw Sienna, Scarlet Lake, Phthalo Blue, a bit of the hat-colour (like Alizarin Crimson, Purple Magenta).
