Exciting News again!
My pink tulip painting in watercolor "Frühlingsboten" (Signs of Spring) is published in the french art magazine "Pratique des Arts". This magazine is similar to the US Artists Magazine and full of info. Although I speak only a few french words it is wonderful to look through this magazine and to see all the wonderful art displayed.
Enjoying a cup of tea and reading through the magazine. What can make more fun?

They made an article about flower artists of the world and I feel very honored that they included my work. I was excited to see that my painting was not only displayed on Page 10, they also used it in their list of contents. How cool!

It is a long time ago since I painted in oil. This is my newest painting and I really need some time to become familiar with the oils again. This purple tulip is painted on panel and size is 7,2 x 10 inch (18x24 cm). It is still not signed, but will do it as soon as the painting is dry. It is hard to get the right colours with the camera, but I think it is very close to the original.

I am working currently on a pink Rose in oil in size 16x16 inch (40x40 cm) and I needed to re- paint some areas a few times. It still isn't finished and I hope I can show it very soon. There are two other beautiful roses planned and I hope they will turn out in these paintings what I am hoping for.

Blue Hydrangea II, size: 12"x16", watercolor painting
I finished the Hydrangea Painting. All this little petals can make someone crazy - but I am very pleased with the painting.
In the past days I worked more on my website. You will realize that some of the maincolours of my site have changed a bit. I also added more pages and in the right sidebar you will also find a link about Step-by-Step-Demonstrations. There are posted two free Demos about how I do a Rose painting - maybe you'll find them helpful. Have fun.

I believe I haven't post this small cat painting yet. I did it some weeks ago of my daughter's beloved cat. It is a watercolor painting in ACEO size (2,5 x 3,5 inch) on 140 Lb coldpressed paper.

The challenge was to not use any masking fluid or to use any other tools to save the whites. I simply painted around the white.
Currently I am working on another blue Hydrangea painting. Size is 12"x16" on 140 Lb coldpressed paper.
The blues and reds are created with Alizarin Crimson, Brillant Purple, Winsor blue (red shade) and Winsor blue (green shade).
I am not really sure at this moment what to do with the background. Will post again soon.

Pink Peony, 12"x16"
painted on stretched canvas
Price: $350 plus shipping insured
If you are interested in purchase this piece, plase visit my shop here
Today I finished my Peony Painting. Size is 12"x16" and it is painted on stretched watercolor canvas.
At first I wanted to do a lightly grey green background, but the paper buckled a bit and I got some blossoms, which I didn't want to have there, so I decided to go dark with the background. The dark background was created with Winsor green (blue shade), Burnt Sienna, Ivory Black and Alizarin Crimson in several layers.

I haven't posted for a while here and this is also just a short note to show what I am doing right now.

Here is a WIP of a girl in watercolor. It is a very early stage, but I thought that you are maybe interested in seeing this. I am working very carefully to build up the layers.

And a Pink Peony in Progress. There is also a lot to do with all the many petals, but I enjoy it. For the pinks I used my favorite colour Permanent Rose. To make it stronger I added some Alizarin Crimson and for the cool areas I added some Phthalo Blue.

"Has the Rain stopped?"
watercolor, 6"x16"
And here is another watercolor painting. I am not really happy with it. Her hand is a bit too long, but since I have worked so often on this area, I will stop now and not touch it again. It is okay, but another lesson learnt!
I am very happy with the reflections and also with the wet street.

Blue Iris, watercolor, 5"x7"
Price: $50 plus $10 shipping international
And another small flower painting in watercolor. I saw this Blue Iris a week ago in a friends garden and knew I would like to paint it.
Usually I work in this way that I paint at first my subject and then the background. This time I decided to try the other way. I painted at first my background and then I concentrated on the flower. I liked a lot to paint in this way and I will try it again on another painting.

It's Moo! Time. I got my businesscards from MOO and I am so very excited. In one of my previous posts I told you about them and that I am going to order the busincess cards and also the MiniCards. It's Moo! Time.

I finished my Pink Peony Painting in watercolor. Or should I say better Magenta. The colour is so strong, that maybe Magenta or red would fit better. Size is 12"x12" and it is painted on stretched watercolor canvas.
Price: $130 plus $10 shipping (airmail and insurance)
I am currently working on my website. In the right sidebar you will see now a new link to available Original paintings and there will also come a link to available fine art prints. I want to have the possibility for my customers to buy directly from my website instead of opening an account on Etsy.
The page is still under construction. Only some links on a few images are working yet.
