Original Paintings
I work with different surfaces for my original paintings.
For my watercolors I use 140 Lb hotpressed paper, 140 Lb coldpressed paper, 340 Lb coldpressed paper, Aquabord (Textured Claybord), Reeves Watercolor Board and Crescent Watercolor Board. Recently I started with stretching watercolor paper over stretcher bars, so it is like a watercolor canvas. These paintings will be varnished and then they don’t need to be framed (of course you always can do this), but they also don’t need to be framed behind glass.
I am using transparent and sometimes opaque watercolors from Schmincke and Winsor and Newton – for the professional artist.
Oil paintings will be painted on stretched canvas or Canvas Board. Each painting will be varnished. I am using oil paints from Rembrandt, M. Graham, Winsor and Newton, only paints for the professional artist. I do not use any Turpentine. As medium I only use Walnut oil or Walnut Alkyd Medium – both are from M. Graham.
Commissions
I welcome Commissions for paintings. Commissions are possible in any size. I also can work from your photographs, if you want to have a portrait of your pet or house. For Rose and Flower paintings you also can send me photographs or I can use my own Reference material. Please contact me with no obligation using my contact form here.
Prints
Large and small prints are Reproductions from my original artwork on Fine Art Paper for Watercolor Reproductions or on Canvas for Oil Reproductions using pigmented inks. All prints are offered as Open Edition. Small prints will be signed on the back and send flat. Large prints will be printed by my printer in USA and will be shipped from there – otherwise shipping costs are too high. The quality of these prints is superb. This are Giclee prints, using high quality printers. I have checked them by myself.
E-book
My E-book about How to Paint Realistic Flowers in Watercolor is available on my website here. After the purchase you will get a link and then you can download it to your own computer and safe it there. It must be read with Adobe Reader 9.0 or higher. You also can print it out so you have it at hand while painting. I have put all my knowledge in this book – it is a book about painting flowers and not about english. English is my only my second language, but I can promise, that I did my best.
Return Policy
I want all my customers to be happy with their Doris Joa Original paintings and prints! If for any reason you are not satisfied, I will accept the return of your purchase within 15 days of the day your purchase arrived. You will be refunded the full amount of your purchase minus the shipping charge and credit card fees. Pack the painting or print in the package as it was received, insure for the purchase price and ship it back. Contact me prior to returning for authorizing.
Privacy
All personal information about you will never be shared with other companies.
Secure Online Ordering
I am a verified Paypal Member and Payment using Paypal is the only way. I do not accept Personal checks. Paypal is secure and you can use any major credit card. I ship worldwide.
Packaging, Delivery and shipping costs
My Paintings and Prints are carefully packaged so you get them in perfect condition. I also try to make the packages in this way, that you don’t have to pay too much for shipping. I ship the prints and paintings only insured.
Paintings with a price about $300+ will be shipped with airmail and high insurance. Shipping costs then is $60.
Small prints and small paintings will be shipped for a lower price ( $8 insurance).
I only ask for those shipping costs, which I have to pay myself. I am using DHL and they make the fees. I do not ask for any fees for package material.
Your order will be shipped the following day after the receipt of your payment (excepting weekend and holidays). Usually a package international needs between 6 – 10 days – they are often very very fast.
