Painting Glowing Roses with Depth

I just wanted to give an update on my new Watercolor Painting DVD. In this Watercolor DVD about painting stunning realistic flowers I show you how to paint a glowing rose with depth. It is a watercolor painting of an orange glowing rose – the beautiful Rose ‘Bonita Renaissance’. I love the warm colours of this rose. This rose really glows with the yellows and oranges and reds.

Added to this beautiful rose are some leaves and a beautiful flat background. I chose a flat background because this background only should support the rose.

Painting glowing roses with depth always start with an underwash of a glowing colours. In this case it is our yellow which glows. As the orange is a very warm colour I choose Indian Yellow as my warm underwash.
